The Great White Shark Who Lost His Way
A story about finding your family again
Guess what I dreamed about last night. A real Great White Shark named Thunder. He was the strongest fastest shark in the whole ocean . Thunder lived with his whole family. Mama shark daddy shark baby sister shark grandma shark and grandpa shark. Every morning they would swim together through the coral reefs. Thunder loved counting all the fish they passed. One two three all the way to a hundred.
But one day Thunder got distracted chasing a school of fish. He swam so fast and so far that when he turned around his family wasn't there anymore. The ocean felt really really big suddenly. Thunder kept swimming looking everywhere. He checked behind the big rocks. He looked in the kelp forest. He even asked the dolphins if they saw his family. Nobody knew where they went.
Thunder felt scared. His tummy hurt. He wondered if his family was looking for him too or if they forgot about him. He found a cave and stayed there for a while just thinking. That's when he remembered something grandpa shark always told him. Your family always waits for you Thunder. Always.
So Thunder started swimming again. This time he didn't just look with his eyes. He listened with his whole body. Sharks can feel vibrations in the water you know. And then he felt it. A familiar pattern. His baby sister's swimming rhythm. He followed that feeling through the dark water and there they were. His whole family swimming in circles in the same spot. They had been waiting right where they lost him.
Mama shark hugged him so tight. Daddy shark said we never stopped looking. Baby sister said I knew you'd come back. Grandma and grandpa just smiled because they knew all along. Thunder learned something important that day. Even when you can't see your family they're still there. Even when you feel lost they're waiting. And the strongest thing about Great White Sharks isn't their teeth or their speed. It's that they always find their way back home.
