The Truck That Could Talk

The Truck That Could Talk

A monster truck adventure

I had the coolest dream last night!

There was this giant monster truck named Thunder. Thunder was HUGE - bigger than a house! He had wheels as tall as trees and he could jump over anything.

But here's the thing - Thunder was scared. He was scared to do his first big jump at the monster truck show. All the other trucks were jumping and crashing and being loud, but Thunder just sat there. His engine went vroom vroom but he wouldn't move.

Then a little kid came up to Thunder. The kid said "Thunder, you scared?"

And Thunder said "Yeah. I'm scared. What if I can't do it?"

The kid thought about it. Then he said "My back hurts sometimes but I still play. You can be scared AND do it."

So Thunder took a deep breath. His engine went VROOOOM! And he rolled forward. Slow at first. Then faster. Then he hit the ramp and - WHOOOOSH! - he flew through the air!

When he landed, all the trucks cheered. Thunder felt proud. Not because he wasn't scared anymore - he was still a little scared. But he did it anyway.

The kid gave Thunder a high five with his tiny hand on Thunder's big tire.

That's what being brave is, Noah. Doing stuff even when you're scared. That's what bravery actually looks like.
